🌿 Part-Time Community & Growth Coordinator – Sewjo

Approx. 15–20 hours/week | $21–23/hr | Remote (Canada preferred)

Sewjo (short for sewing + mojo) is a brand-new app created just for hobby sewists β€” helping you track your stash, plan your projects, and reconnect with the joy of making.

We’re looking for a part-time Community & Growth Coordinator to help bring Sewjo to more makers β€” not through big ad budgets or sales tactics, but through real conversations, meaningful engagement, and showing up where sewists already gather.

This isn’t your typical β€œsocial media coordinator” role. We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes sewing:
🧡 You have a stash (probably overflowing but not necessarily)
🧡 You know your way around a Facebook group or Reddit thread
🧡 You get what excites and frustrates hobby sewists β€” because you are one
🧡 And you're not afraid to hop on camera and show how you organize your fabric (even if your space is a little messy)

✨ Your Main Responsibilities

🧡 Community Engagement

  • Be present in online sewing spaces (Facebook groups, Reddit, YouTube, Discord, etc.)

  • Join conversations naturally and share helpful suggestions (like Sewjo!)

  • Respond to posts and comments where Sewjo could genuinely help β€” in a friendly, authentic way

πŸ“Έ Content Creation

  • Create and share 2–3 pieces of content per week (Instagram, Facebook, Reels, memes, polls, etc.)

  • Help prepare and schedule newsletters (we’ll provide templates & support)

  • Film short, casual videos in your sewing space (e.g. how you use Sewjo, stash tours, sewing prompts) β€” just real, helpful, and honest clips filmed on your phone

✨ Other Responsibilities May Include

  • Helping us understand what users are saying, loving, or struggling with

  • Reaching out to individuals or small businesses in the sewing world to invite them to try the app

  • Supporting special projects or small campaigns as we grow

🧠 Who We’re Looking For

  • You’re a hobby sewist and active in the online sewing community

  • You’re friendly, self-motivated, and genuinely enjoy chatting with others

  • You’re reliable and steady β€” you like seeing things through and being part of something as it grows

  • You have a natural sense for what looks good β€” color, layout, and flow β€” even if you’re not a trained graphic designer

  • You’re comfortable using Canva (or open to learning β€” we’ll provide a template library and support)

  • You’re confident (or open!) to film short clips in your sewing space

  • You’re curious and not afraid to ask questions or bring new ideas forward

πŸ’Ό This is a part-time contract role running until the end of January 2026, with a 3-month trial period to make sure it's a great fit on both sides.

You’ll be working closely with Irina (founder of Sewjo and FABCYCLE) and be part of a small, thoughtful team building something joyful and useful from the ground up.

If you’re looking for a creative, flexible role that connects your sewing hobby with a purpose β€” this might be the right fit.
