February FAB Sewcial Challenge Re-Cap - ZIPPERS!

Last month, we asked our community of sewists and home makers to create a textile based item that incorporated a zipper.

We know how difficult it can be to sew a zipper, so it was really inspiring to see all of the creations our talented community of makers came up with! 

After posting the challenge theme for February on Monday the 1st, anyone who wanted to participate had until Monday February 22nd to complete their submission, follow us on Instagram, post it to their Instagram page with the hashtag #fabsewcialchallenge and tagging us @fabcyclevan.

Challenge Winner

Emma

The winner of our Zippers challenge was Emma of @em__prints, who created these gorgeous handmade boots, complete with a snazzy zipper from FABCYCLE! Aren’t they FABulous?! When voting ended on February 26th, Emma's boots were the clear winner once we tallied all of our followers votes!

Shak Jessa

Shak @shakiljessa fashioned this FABulous blue hued blouse with zipper closure, and he is serving us serious looks! He styled his self made look impeccably, and we love to see how our community members rock their home made clothes! Follow him on Instagram for more fresh fits and creative sewing projects!

Heather Pennie

Heather @manitoulinthreads sewed an entire softshell ski suit complete with 9 different zippered components, and we are so impressed! Not only does she look sharp and ready for adventure, but those zipper seams are flawless! Browse more of her sewing projects on her page.
